I don’t know, hopefully the latter, but he’s pretty much every negative stereotype about Americans.
jon shieber tweeted this, saying it’s “from an american friend of mine working with the un in iraq”:
so if we’re worried about american image issues we better keep protesting
this is important for many reasons, but one of them is – i think we need to accept that we are going to lose a lot of these battles, and lose big, and it’s going to be fucking ROUGH. and in those moments we will need to remember that we can make a difference not just by winning, but by showing up to fight.
I was talking to a friend in Greece and he commented on how sad he felt about everything happening here, but how encouraging it was that people are protesting and fighting back. So yes, the awful stuff is making it overseas, but so are the positives.
“Here’s the photo that says it all. The airport: that most sterile and alienating of environments has become a site of national resistance. Deport this.”
Our country is in danger, but not to be despaired of. Our enemies are numerous and powerful; but we have many friends, determining to be free, and heaven and earth will aid the resolution. On you depend the fortunes of America. You are to decide the important question, on which rest the happiness and liberty of millions yet unborn. Act worthy of yourselves.
Thousands got out today in airports to protest against Trump’s Muslim Ban singing “This Land is Your Land.” and a Federal judge has been able to block the Muslim Ban but it’s only a temporary fix so pls if you’re american Call your member of Congress and demand they overturn the ban for good! if you can’t or aren’t american but able financially pls donate to the ACLU.
To everyone who is protesting at airports: you are heroes. To everyone currently detained: you are loved.
