It was very tough. We, all four of us – well, there was three of us [Niall, Harry and I] in the room to start with, which was nice. I hadn’t seen everyone in ages. The first thing I noticed was how tall Harry had got – he was massive, like super, super tall out of nowhere. I was like, ‘what are you eating?’ He’s a growing boy. But it was nice that everybody had turned up, and I was so glad. We flew the world over to get to that gig. Louis walked in, and there was a real nice family moment where we all got together and had a little huddle and got together. It was the first time in five or six years where we were fully best mates, we weren’t even a band that night. We were top top top lads. It was a sad occasion, it was bittersweet in a sense because it felt so lovely for us all to be there, to go ‘yes, we are all fully in this for the long run’ but at the same time, what a tragic, tragic, tragic loss.
