11 Random Facts

I was tagged in this approximately a million years ago by @inmybubble, but was super busy at the time and didn’t get around to it until now!

Tell your followers 11 random facts about yourself and tag 11 people. Tag backs are allowed but if you do get tagged again you must not repeat any of the facts you mentioned in the previous round. The facts can be absolutely anything, whatever comes to mind first.

1. I am such a procrastinator, and have been for years (in fact, I’m currently procrastinating on work stuff).  I consider the fact that I submitted my thesis three hours before the deadline a major accomplishment.

2. I live and work on Long Island, but am planning on moving to NYC this summer (if I get tenure!) despite the fact that it would add another 30-45 minutes to my (already long) commute.

3. Last year, instead of making lofty new year’s resolutions, I made it my goal to take my makeup off every night before going to bed – it was the first resolution I’ve ever stuck to.  This year, my resolution is to floss daily.  I’m hoping to have a nightly routine in place by the time I’m 40, haha.

4. Despite being born and raised in New York, I’m a diehard Red Sox fan.  I went to Boston as a kid and fell in love with the history of the place and, subsequently, the Red Sox.

5. I became a soccer fan during the 2006 World Cup because my history and English teachers that year were the school soccer coaches and would always have it on in their classrooms.  I am a Chelsea fan because Jose Mourinho reminded me of my history teacher, plus they had a bunch of players from the English national team back in the day. (I have a major soft spot in my heart for Leicester City, though.  I cried at the end of every single game during the final few weeks of last season).

6. I have had a crush on Adam Levine since I was 12 years old, and I don’t think it’s going away any time soon.

7. In college, I studied abroad in Spain and would recommend it to anyone.  Not because living in another country is a cool experience (though it is), but because you meet people from all over the world (who then let you stay with them when you visit!).  It’s hanging out with all my international friends that I miss most about it.

8. I’m a huge Anglophile, and spend quite a bit of my time fantasizing about living in the UK.  Might need to marry a Brit to do that, though.

9. Midnight Memories was the album that turned me into a hardcore 1D fan.  I thought their music was cute and catchy before, but I genuinely LOVED the songs on Midnight Memories.  There’s been no looking back since.

10. One of my best friends and I went to Space Camp as kids.  I became a teacher.  She became an astrophysicist. #underachiever

11. I went to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter this last April and cried when I entered Diagon Alley.  This has rekindled my love for all things Harry Potter, and I’ve come to accept that J.K. Rowling owns my entire life, and will forever and ever.
