I don’t think it’s surprising, it’s a microcosm of the election. 90% of Republicans fell in line, like they do every year. Hillary got the vast majority of Bernie voters, but she didn’t get enough. Democrats think voting is a statement about who you are, Republicans (correctly) see it as a means of gaining power. But the electoral vote is purely symbolic at this point, trying to flip them was an unserious endeavor. But don’t cry, history is going t be very unkind to those who voted for him, and in 20 years you’ll find it difficult to find anyone who will admit to being a Trump voter.
